Celebrate International Mahjong Day with Mahjong in the Sun at our first-ever tournament!
Join fellow mahjong players for an afternoon of friendly competition, great food, drinks, prizes and plenty of mahj. Players will compete across two rounds of tournament play, rotating tables and opponents throughout the afternoon. Scores will be tallied across the two rounds, with prizes awarded to our first-, second- and third-place finishers!
Your $75 ticket includes tournament entry, charcuterie from Let’s Cheese Jax, one drink ticket from Really Good Beer Stop, one raffle ticket, access to tournament prizes, shopping from our onsite vendors, and a special Mahjong in the Sun merchandise offer available during the event.
Additional raffle tickets and Mahjong in the Sun merchandise will be available for purchase onsite.
Please note: This tournament is designed for experienced players. There will be no formal instruction during the event. Players should be comfortable reading the current NMJL card, building hands independently and completing gameplay without instructional assistance.

Please note: This tournament is designed for experienced American Mahjong players who are comfortable reading the 2026 NMJL card, building hands independently, and playing without instructional assistance. There will be no formal instruction during the event, and prior Mahjong experience is required.
Check-in begins at 12:30 PM, with tournament play beginning promptly at 1:00 PM. Bring your 2026 NMJL card and get ready for an afternoon of competition, community, charcuterie, drinks, prizes, and plenty of mahj!
Optional Sunset Mahj Bonus Round
If time permits following the awards ceremony, players will be invited to participate in an optional Sunset Mahj Bonus Round to celebrate International Mahjong Day and get a sneak peek at our new Wednesday night community events at Really Good Beer Stop.

Fresh start—scores from the main tournament do not carry over
The player with the highest cumulative score across all four bonus games will be crowned the Sunset Mahj Bonus Round Champion
🏆 Prize: The winner will receive four complimentary Wednesday nights at Sunset Mahj Wednesdays at Really Good Beer Stop (a $80 value).
The Sunset Mahj Bonus Round is designed to be a fun, social finale to the day and an opportunity to continue playing with fellow mahjong enthusiasts.
Please note: The bonus round is optional and will only take place if tournament timing allows.
